Created in 1994, the PCCF is administered jointly by NMFA and the Department of Health
to make loans to non-profit primary care clinics in rural and medically underserved areas.
In 2005, the Legislature broadened the use of the fund by including school-based health centers
and telehealth sites as well as broadening the eligibility to include all non-profit primary
care providers.
As of June 30, 2005, NMFA has made 13 loans totaling approximately $6.63 million.
The NMFA and the Department of Health are required annually to file a separate report
governing the activities of the Primary Care Capital Fund. This report has been filed.
